Pregnancy vs. Motherhood

Over the past couple of months I've tried to remember pregnancy and relished motherhood...

Things I miss after pregnancy:
  • Feeling the boys kick all the time
  • Having an excuse to do whatever I want to!
  • Being able to ask Andrew for back massages all the time :)
  • Waking up to my boys moving around
  • Andrew praying for these little men with hands on my tummy
  • Getting to take lots of naps!
  • Never feeling like I need to suck in my tummy :)
Things I'm grateful for again:
  • Pants without elastic waistbands...even though it will still be a while after delivery!
  • Walking into a clothing store and knowing you can try something on and it may actually fit!
  • Sleeping on whatever side I'd like to (even if I'm not getting much of it!)
  • Not having someone kick my ribs from the inside
  • Having a little more bladder control...yes there are stories there!
  • Not having to pee in the middle of the night anymore!
  • People commenting on my body all the time- wether nice or not it's so weird to get used to!
  • Getting to exercise more
  • T-shirts fitting again, at least they don't show my tummy anymore
  • Being able to bend over again to put on shoes, pick up things etc!
  • Being able to wash dishes without turning sideways and eat without reach over my belly
New things I'm grateful for in motherhood:
  • Finally meeting Grayson and Jackson
  • Getting to hold their precious hands and feet!!
  • Watching the boys dream and make lots of different facial expressions
  • Still getting to eat as much as I want
  • All the meals people have brought so I don't have to cook all the time!
  • Getting to have my boys lay on my shoulder and in my arms!

my first mother's day

Sunday was such a fun day for me.  My very first mother's day as a mom.  My in-laws were in town and my mother in law got to have both of her sons and grandsons together- how sweet.

Our family on mother's day
(I have Jackson and hubs has Grayson)

Andrew made cinnamon rolls for everyone and let me open cards I'd gotten all week form family, one from him and one that the boys "wrote".  It was surreal to get a kiddie card!  After church he took me on a little picnic and gave me a frame of mother quotes and verses and a big canvas picture he'd blown up.  It's of Andrew holding the boys. And on top of that Andrew made funfetti ice cream for me!  He knows me so well :)

card from my boys!

My due date was the day before mother's day so I should've been preggo until this weekend! That's insane for me to imagine.  I'm convinced I'd have been miserable.  I'm SO grateful these amazing boys have been here a little while!

Here's a pic of the babes on the official 40 week dues date!

Jacks on left, Gray on right

Taking a walk while our in laws were in town.  The weather has been so wonderful!

Gray loves to sleep smile!

happy Jackson

Grayson showing off his new neck rolls (and elf ear)!

and Jackson looks sleep-drunk

he's also a goof ball- what a cutie!

5 weeks

The boys are 5 weeks now and have crossed into their second month of life.  They are awesome!  And now they're both hovering around 6 pounds!  I can't believe how BIG they seem now :)

realizing that the world was not made for double strollers!

Jackson yawning

and in his most comfortable position!

Andrew took me and the boys out for ice cream and for a walk around Lake Johanna

Hubby workin' away with his boy on his shoulder

The day they turned ONE month!

(what it was really like...)

I made these little onesies in the last leg of pregnancy.  They are still working on filling them out!
