Grayson and Jackson came home after 9 days in the NICU last Friday. It has been amazingly sweet (and sleepless!) since!
Thankfully in just under a week and a half our little guys passed all the tests they had: body temperature regulation, feeding, hearing, weight gain, car seat, etc. They were champs and everyone was surprised at how fast these two have become stable. We loved all our doctors and nurses in the NICU and had a wonderful experience there, circumstances considered.
Once we left the hospital, Andrew and I headed to lunch for a celebration meal! The boys slept like rocks in their car seats and we enjoyed our first date out with them. We also realized that from now on, when the boys are with us, we'll get lots of attention. Three or four different sets of people asked us about they boys, wanted to see their faces, know how old they are...and some lady went on and on about good day cares in the area. We've gone on a couple of walks since being at home and same thing. The spectators and lots of questions from strangers will be a new adjustment for me!

Our first night was crazy. Each boy took a turn being fussy until the next night feeding which meant that we didn't sleep from 12-6:30! Thankfully they both were sleeping and content between 6:30 and 9 so we got a nap in there. It hasn't been that bad since, but it was definitely an awakening for us. And a new sort of "welcome" to parenthood.

My sister, Courtney, and her husband Scott came to visit this past weekend and my Mom flew up Sunday. It was fun to have family here and have everyone get to know Grayson and Jackson a little. Court and Scott cooked some yummy meals for us and Mom has basically done all our housework, cooking, and helping with the boys since she got here. Plus, more than anyone else, Andrew has been the greatest! He helps with everything! Having our two boys home has made me more grateful for my husband than ever before!
