entering twin-mom world

I survived!  This morning was the local Moms of Multiples consignment sale for the Twin Cities area.  Hubs is out of town for the weekend so my good friend/co-worker Theresa came with me.  I'd heard stories of the intensity.  And though it wasn't as crazy as we first thought, it was still hilarious!  At 7 am, pregnant women running to "tag" the strollers or baby swings they wanted and women very proud of having multiples.  People had nametags on with the year they had their multiples...like a graduation or alumni club.  Mere "slingleton" moms weren't allowed in until it was open to the public at 11am.  Funny!  There are lots of other moments Theresa and I looked at each other and laughed, but overall I was grateful to have heard about the event and the ability to be there.  We got some good stuff for pretty cheap (2 bouncy seats, 2 pair Robeez shoes, 2 single strollers, 2 swaddlers and a couple of books for under $100!).

What they called "command central"- slash check out and office. Ha!
Moms shopping like crazy

Since I was on a kick of knocking out our "baby must have" list I stopped by a baby consignment store and got a few extra things we'd been needing! So great!
All the goods from the sale and consignment store

After some lunch a nap and shower, I was off to my last baby shower.  Great friends Hannah, Samm, and Jen threw it for me and it was such a blast!  Yummy cupcakes and sweet company made it a wonderful afternoon.  Plus we got a bunch of diapers which we've been needing and lots of other cute burp cloths, blankets, outfits, shoes and toys.
The car loaded after the shower!
and hauling up all the shower goodies from the car to our apt with Andrew out of town...thankfully our apt has shopping carts for us to use

Now I'm 34 weeks and my Dr. said I really may make it to 38 (WHAT! Another WHOLE month?!!!) so I've been finding a few little projects for the boys.

Like pee pee tepees.  Seriously? Yes.  I found a super simple pattern on Pinterest and I made a few of these things.  Hopefully they'll help keep pee out of my face while changing our little guys :)

the completed pee pee tepees!

Then I moved on to onesies.  Again, after getting the idea on Pinterest, I got some of my scrap fabric and heat n' bond.  After stenciling the initial letters, I ironed on the fabric to our onesies.  Now not only are they cute, but we'll be able to tell them apart!

32 weeks and counting!

Here we are at 32 weeks!  My tummy measures 40 weeks in size, but everything is good! This is actually on the coldest day we've had in the last week and still no jacket + green grass in March!  I'm thankful though because with all the 70s and 80s days I don't have many summery clothes I can fit into :)  Thankfully the weather has been more cooperative with these maternity clothes.

Hoping our boys last another 4 weeks or so!

freezer stocking

Since these boys are coming sometime within the next few weeks to month and a half I figured I'd better prepare for hibernation.  It at least felt like that!  Andrew was in India for a week so I made a ridiculous trip to Sam's Club and looked like a crazed pregnant woman.

You can also see I picked up a lot of snack foods since nursing twins means I'll (potentially) be eating 3500 calories a day! Woah!

For the whole week I baked and cooked some, but mainly assembled freezer ready meals, meats, veggies, and fruits so we can eat even when we're both exhausted from little ones.
our kitchen was a mess!
3 sheet pans of roasted chicken breasts and thighs to shred

Here's the freezer inventory sheet I used to keep track of what I made and how much is in the freezer.  So when we have few functioning brain cells and two crying babes, we can figure out what we've got!
